Winter whites were almost a must with all the snow we had this weekend. Oh don’t you worry, I managed to get some mud on the skirt. I decided to try and slip out of the skirt still wearing my shoes. Not a great idea when the roads were wet from the snow. You live and learn I suppose.
I usually drink my coffee black, but when I wear all white I usually avoid drinking coffee. No matter how careful I am, I always manage to spill some on myself. I carry one of those tide to go pens in my work bag, even though my stains are usually too big to even try to clean up with the pen.
I am wearing one of my Banana Republic Non Iron Sateen Shirt and an ivory skirt from J Crew. When you look at the skirt online it looks more white than what it really is in real life (buyer beware). One can never go wrong with a pencil skirt. They are timeless pieces. I own one every color and different lengths. I usually purchase them when they go on sale or when they eventually make it the J Crew Factory Store.
I prefer the double serge wool and double serge cotton skirts from J Crew because the quality is a little better. I first ordered this cotton skirt in white and navy but had to return them because they were so thin. For something that I expect multiple wears and own for a few years I honestly did not see the cotton skirt being able to last long. I returned them and ended up with the double serge wool skirts and I have to say I am pleased. Make sure you check the tags prior to washing. I also try to avoid purchasing too many things that are dry clean only.
