When I saw this yellow J Crew sweater skirt I knew I had to have it. I figured what better way to tackle the Monday morning blues than with a bright yellow skirt. When I saw the skirt described as a sweater skirt online, I was expecting the skirt to be made out of a thicker material than what the actual was made out of. It is definitely thinner than I expected and see through. Fortunately for me, I own a few slips (thanks to my mother), so it was not the end of the world when I realized that it was slightly see through. I have a half slip which was just the perfect length for this skirt and also own a few full slips that I usually wear with dresses. The key is to make sure that your slip is about the same length of the skirt or the dress that you need it for. I used to think that only old ladies wore slips until I came across pieces of clothing that I loved but could not wear because they were see through.
I paired it with an old baby blue sweater from J Crew and an old necklace that I purchased from Zara. Not to worry, I linked a few identical items below. This sweater is super soft and is great for layering and also a great transitioning piece. It is slowly starting to get cold in Nashville. Good bye to bare legs for now.
I hope everyone’s week is off to a good start.
