Happy Monday!
This weekend definitely felt short. I could have used an extra day.
I have a love for midi skirts that even I cannot explain. A few years ago, I was in Europe visiting family and had purchased a few nautical midi skirts, however, no one was wearing them. They were more grandma style than the style of someone in their 20s. I maybe wore them a few times before I stored them away in my closet. During one of my many moves in the last 3 years, I decided to get rid of the skirts. I am kicking myself for that little move. This capelet was part of that purchase, and I was determined to hold on to it. Good thing I at least held on to one thing.
I bought the skirt from Zara and it fits true to size. When you look at the fabric, it looks as though it would be heavy, however, it is very light. I paired the skirt with a blue sweater from J Crew (also styled here) and my blue suede heels.
Midi skirts can be tricky to style. If you do it wrong you could end up looking a bit frumpy. If you are short, I would suggest wearing them with heels and try not to get one that hits too low. You run the chance of making your legs look shorter.
