A few bloggers and I were selected to style a chambray shirt incorporating four different themes: metallics, florals, stripes, and cobalt. Below is how I styled each look.
Look One: Focus on Florals
Skirt: J Crew Factory
Chambray Shirt: c/o Loft
Shoes: Off Broadway Shoes (Opry Mills) (Similar)
With pretty perennials and buds in bloom, floral prints are a natural spring fashion trend. For the focus on florals look, I decided to style the chambray shirt with a blue pencil skirt. Pencil skirts are part of my wardrobe staple so it was a no-brainer that I would style the shirt with a skirt for a day at the office. I went with a monochromatic look because I wanted the shoes to stand out.
These floral shoes will definitely freshen up any ensemble you put together. I can see myself wearing these shoes all year round. They are definitely a great addition to my spring wardrobe.
Look 2: Add Shimmer With Metallics
Jeans: Target
Shoes: Zara (Old)
Clutch: Aldo Opry Mills
Shirt: c/o Loft
Blazer: Banana Republic (Old) Similar
In case you didn’t know, the spring style forecast is shining bright with glitzy metallics. Shoppers can add excitement to an understated outfit with sparkly and embellished accessories.
My husband and I have date nights on Fridays and some nights I just don’t feel like dressing up. I decided to style my chambray shirt with a pair of skinny jeans, blazer, heels, and a metallic gold clutch I found at Aldo Shoes within the mall. When I walked in the store, I gravitated towards this clutch. As soon I saw it, I imagined how I would also style it for upcoming weddings. It’s just the perfect size to stash your phone and lipstick.
Look Three: Color With Cobalt
Dress: Nordstrom
Necklace: J Crew Factory (Opry Mills)
Shoes: Steve Madden
Shirt: c/o Loft
With spring comes brilliant hues of color to brighten up your wardrobe. Cobalt, in particular, is a vibrant must have for the season’s palette and pairs perfectly with spring and summer.
For the third look, I found a cobalt necklace at J Crew Factory. I decided to style it for a more dressed down look that I normally would wear either running errands or to brunch. The color of the dress has become one of my signature colors. Each time I wear this color I always get compliments.
I wore the chambray shirt over the dress since the dress is sleeveless. The weather has been unpredictable lately, you never know if its going to be a little chilly when you walk out the house or if its going to be warm. I also love having this shirt to just throw over the dress when the weather gets warm because most places usually have the AC on and it gets a chilly indoors.
Look Four: Say It With Stripes
Shirt: c/o Loft
Skirt: Nordstrom
Bag: Off Broadway Shoes (Opry Mills)
Shoes: Nordstrom
Stripes in a spectrum of colors and sizes dominated the season’s catwalks. You can incorporate this graphic trend into your wardrobe by pairing outfits with lined shoes, ties, or bags in subtle or bold patterns.
As I was walking around Off Broadway Shoes in the mall I spotted this striped bag from afar and had to go check it. The first thing I do when I find a bag is make sure that I can throw it over my shoulder. There was no question this bag was coming home with me.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Barcelona this summer, so I decided to style the chambray shirt for the trip. I found a maxi skirt at Nordstrom which was the perfect length and also has a slit in the front. I tied the shirt since I plan on wearing it to the beach and with the shirt being slightly long, I can also utilize it as a cover up. This outfit will be perfect on the days we are at the beach and decide to go somewhere close for lunch and/or drinks. I won’t have to worry about getting back to our hotel to get dressed.
The bag is just the perfect size for carrying around sunscreen, wallet, and snacks.
I love adding pieces to my wardrobe that are versatile and this shirt is definitely a keeper.
