Maternity Wear: Red Pencil Dress Paired With Blush Coat

Red Pencil Dress & Blush Coat

This red pencil dress paired with a blush coat (also styled here), though it may not be maternity, is one of my favorite outfit combinations so far.  It’s perfect for work and also perfect for date night.  The whole look is even more perfect for Valentine’s Day.  As you all know am not a huge fan of wearing non maternity clothes just because the fit tends to be odd.  I tried on a Maggie London dress I had my eye on for a while and my husband told me my boobs looked odd.

I have been trying to go for dresses with stretchy material. Give the growing belly some room. It’s amazing how much within a week span how much your belly grows. Most of the time I don’t really notice until I go to wear something I wore the previous week and the zipper won’t go up.

Perfect dress for Valentine's Day Maternity Work Wear

I have really been enjoying dressing the bump. The red and the pink (thank you Pinterest for the endless outfit inspirations) are a great color combination. The light pink definitely helps tone down the bold red. I can also see myself pairing it with a pink blazer for a day at the office as well. I have had my eye on this one.

If you have any plans for Valentine’s Day this dress will be perfect for date night as well.  With it being on a Tuesday this year, I can see one wearing this dress to work and then heading off to dinner with either your love or some girlfriends.

Thank you so much for the kind words Laura. It took some time to get out of the “I am getting big and don’t know how to dress funk.”

That is a GORGEOUS combination. Absolutely beautiful. You are also slaying that bump. I actually would never have thought to go with that color combo, but seeing it on you makes me want to run out and grab a blush pink coat. Thanks for sharing.
