Being a first time mom and having a 3.5 month old, my days are a little hectic now that I am back to work. For today’s blog post, I have partnered with Emergen-C® Energy+ and am sharing tips on how to manage time and make the most of the time you have in a day. Emergen-C® Energy+ Dietary Supplement, a vitamin drink mix with natural caffeine from green tea, available in bold-flavored Blueberry-Açai, powder-packed Lemon-Lime, and fruit-y Mango-Peach, is flavored with natural, real fruit flavors. It’s also gluten free.
HOW TO MANAGE TIME AS A NEW MOM
TIP 1: SLEEP
Sleep is a priority for me. I cannot function without a good night’s sleep. Gone are the days of getting 9 hours of sleep. Now I am fortunate to get 6 hours in one night. Let me tell you, as soon as our son goes to bed, I am headed for bed.
TIP 2: ESTABLISH THE SAME WORK ROUTINE
I wake up at 6am every morning and make sure I am in the office by 8am. Our son has to be picked up by 5pm, so if I am the one that has to pick him, I need to leave work by 4:30pm at the latest. I stick to my work schedule of 8am to 4:30pm every day. It is important to have some form of routine not only at home but at work, as well. That way I do not seem like I am just coming and going at my leisure.
TIP 3: DISCONNECT
When I get home in the evenings, I put my phone away. It’s so easy to fall into the black hole that is the internet. I try to be present when having conversations with my husband and interacting with our son.
TIP 4: Set Attainable Goals
One of my goals after having our son has been to exercise whenever I can. I try to get in a workout about three times a week, and that is usually a good week. I usually take one serving of Emergen-C® Energy+ during my workout. Emergen-C® Energy+ comes in portable packets that you can easily stash in your pocket or bag. It’s an anywhere product with ingredients that help provide for your energy and immune support needs.* For me, a quick workout in our backyard is all I can squeeze in.
TIP 5: Do NOT BE AFRAID TO SAY NO
There are times I forget that I have a kid and think that I can still take on as much work and outside work commitments as I did before being a mom. I am learning to say no and focusing more on what I deem important. I cannot go to every social gathering, and that is ok.
You can find Emergen-C® Energy+ at Walgreens in the Vitamins aisle.
