Denim Mini Skirt: How To Style 70s Mod Skirt

I buy a lot of my work clothes from Loft and I had been seeing denim mini skirts that instantly reminded me of the 70s mod style. I love the60s and 70s fashion trends and the more I research the more I realize these styles are slowly coming back.  See my flared jeans styled in this post. When I saw this faux suede skirt, I knew I had to have it. Unfortunately it is sold out in blue but still available in red (and on sale!).

I styled this denim mini skirt lookalike with one of the most popular blazers from Target from last year, a form fitting shirt from J Crew and my French Connection platform heels. Platform heels are another style that is from the 60s/70s fashion era.  These shoes have a pretty high heel, however, they are one of the most comfortable pair of heels I own.  Now that I am a mom, comfort tops everything. Whenever I am purchasing shoes, I always ask myself if I can easily carry our son around without risking the chance of rolling an ankle or falling. if the answer is yes, then the shoes belong in my closet.  Practicality, the definition of being an adult.

The granny purse was the perfect thriftstore find and I could not be happier. I had seen a similar Chloe purse in magazines that I loved, but did not love the price. This purse goes with pretty much everything I own. I think I spent less than $5 for it, total score!
