How To Style A Button Down Shirt

A white button down has been a closet staple for me for as long as I can remember. I was gifted this shirt from a new to me brand, Grayson, that I discovered through Sarah Flint. When the Grayson team reached out, I had just been talking to my husband about how I needed a new white button down. The one I had been living in was actually one of his old shirts that he was going to donate almost 5 years ago and I decided to keep it.

The Grayson shirt I got is the washed linen shirt. It’s super soft, light, and airy. It’s definitely a shirt that I can wear year round. Winter time I can see either wearing it under a blazer or layering a turtleneck underneath.

In today’s post I am sharing how to style a button down shirt. The opportunities are endless and it’s a staple that can easily be dressed up or dressed down.

Look 1

I paired my white button down with one of my favorite pencil skirts from Cos Stores. This is a look that I would put together for the office. Nothing says well dressed like a crisp white button down.

Look 2

For the second look I tied my white button down over a slip dress. This is an easy go to look when I am running errands or just want to feel somewhat put together. I have also thrown it over my sports bra while working from home if I have any video meetings scheduled for the day.

Look 3

I have been on the hunt for a pair of relaxed paper bag waist pants. They are great for my mom bod and hiding that post baby belly. I paired my shirt with the paper bag waist pants I found at Zara. I also styled it with a scarf that I tied around my neck.
